Crotchety miser Ebenezer Scrooge (Reginald Owen) hates Christmas and mistreats his long-suffering employee, devoted family man Bob Cratchit (Gene Lockhart). This is in my top three productions of A Christmas Carol. Growing up in Chicago, my mother and I watched it every year on Family Classics on Channel 9/WGN. Such sweet warm memories. I still watch it every Dec and it's still enchants me every time.
