  1. The indigenous populations of the world had found a way to live in perfect harmony with nature. Then came along the pinks. The pinks destroyed all indigenous civilizations, uprooted them from their communities, forced the world to treat everything and everyone as a COMMODITY, speed up the energy usage and resources usage of the planet, created wars, killed millions, made life impossible on this earlier beautiful planet and finally now acts as the savior of all humanity while blaming all humans for this state of affairs. The slowest kid in the class was the pink kid but now, this mentally deranged kid is in control of every ones life. We're doomed.

  2. 00:18 – "Civilizations that harnessed water have thrived and those who failed… fell. "

in modern times, we are failing to recognize that our fates are tied to our taps.
00:50 – Case study of Cape town – Day zero – water crisis – shut off water taps – and to provide water as rations from city water stations
Later in the end of documentary – impediment of water crisis has shaken up people of city and water consumption was halved in couple of weeks and conservation increased. As a result Day Zero was postponed.
01:21 – Problem of Perception that it is bountiful amounts and accessible through tap water — makes water crisis as an invisible crisis approaching very fast and striking the very existence of human establishment.
03:24 – Liquid Freshwater Distribution – Most of earth's freshwater in liquid form is underground water reservoirs – But less feasible to exploit in comparison to surface running water where most of human population is settled.
03:42 – Examples of Aztecs settling around large lake – Spanish arrival – draining of lake – lake are gone – so city floods today – run off water – wasted…. utilizing aquifers for drinking water
05:19 – downside of sucking up ground water – It is not renewable as fast as it is depleted + extracting water causes sagging of landmass
05:50 – climate change impact on water availability
06:27 – Liquid freshwater use distribution — shocking to see that most of freshwater goes to not direct human consumption but to Agriculture & animal husbandry – meat industry.
07:12 – One medium hamburger costs 1,650 liters of water – Water subsidy given to farmers – actually results is obviating water costs from the final agriculture products.
08:19 – Water intensive crops in driest of regions

    Ironically,

Water would be petroleum of 21st century – Goldman Sachs

& in 2010 UN recognized access to water & Sanitation as a human right.
09:03 – Benefits of water commodification – realization of water value
09:21 – wasteful use of water – inefficient irrigation techniques + leakage in water infrastructure
10:36 – Case Study of beer Brewery in Mexicali city – taking water from Colorado River – Mexicali is water scarce region
12:05 – Marginalization of vulnerable communities as result of water commodification + Increased inflation due to inclusion of water cost in everyday food products
13:18 – Case of Lake Chad – Water Conflict is in the center of Darfur Region conflict

  3. This whole video is full of worthless trivial knowledge. When the ocean’s evaporate fresh water goes into the atmosphere leaving behind the salt in the ocean then that gas condensed and rains back onto the land. It’s an endless cycle. When we deplete one aquifer that water will fill up another area.

  4. what about countries that rely on desalination? they barley have any rivers so they use this method to turn ocean water into fresh water

  5. What would happen if developed countries successfully banned having children for 10 years?

  6. If America runs out of water ,they just have to walk into Canada and take it over………..

  7. Corporations should be on the hook for building their own desalination plants, cut off their access to communal and public water. The packaging and recycling costs have already been pushed onto consumers and municipalities, they want to follow the same playbook with water. Really think about why a bottle of soda is cheaper than water, and how we just let them take water from public lands and profit.

  8. The cost should not even be relevant. If every country worked together to create a global system to desalinate, the problem wouldn't even exist. It's ridiculous that we're concerned about rising sea levels – Too much water – Whilst also being concerned about not having enough water. Like so many of the worlds problems, It's not even a problem we don't have answers for. It's a problem we don't have the will to fix. Energy shortages are the same. We have the technology to eradicate the use of fossil fuels, but not the will.

  9. As someone who values water so deeply because of naturally understandable reasons, it is safe to say that this video has (at least, will have) changed the way I live my life.
We cannot afford to lose water.

  10. Wake up my people! pay attention to the fear this induces… Propaganda slide into your nervous system to paralyze you and hand over your money to pay for water. we are in the end stage of capitalism. Earth will not sustain a profit at all cost model. This commercial is planting seeds justifying the commodification of water. Our society is sick and needs to be universally healed
“Water has a value” End the overt destruction of mother earth. Hold corporations and the government accountable. human activities such as industrial production, agriculture, waste disposal and many others are polluting our environment and water. Stop watching Tv! Demand tRUE democracy now!

  11. To be honest, I am very glad that I was born in the Dominican Republic. The culture, people, and wide-spread poverty really humble many people. I have learned to conserve water since I was born. Even as I live here in Pennsylvania, I make sure to watch my water usage even though it is included in the rent.

  12. "We don't have a water problem we have a salt problem" – Joe Rogan
Desalination is the way to go.

  13. Doesn't it matter where you live? I live just next to a lake containing 21 cubic miles of freshwater in a climate that also provides enough rain. I'm not planning to waste any water, but I expect that it would make little difference if we were to save water here. It is also worth noting that water is a self-renewing resource, unlike petroleum. Only underground water reserves can take very long to replenish once tapped.

  14. "Earth is the blue planet." From the lips of Mau'dib. Bless his comings and his goings as the flow of Shai Ha'lude.

  15. Oh crap. Clearly beef cows are not fed birth to butcher on alfalfa. They spend their lives on marginal grasslands that require zero irrigation. So this is an overt lie. As a farmer I know this for sure. How many other things that I do not know as a lie or not are included?
Wait a minute, Wheat in China? NOBODY irrigates wheat. It is a dry land crop.

  16. This will be one of the biological limiting factors. To reduce the human population . its a .natural process and it will happen well it already is. Its all about equilibrium.
