16. Ellen Burstyn got robbed of this award. Julia Roberts is a great actress and did great in Erin Brockovich, but Ellen Burstyn's role in Requiem for a Dream was absolutely astonishing.

17. Sorry but Ellen burstyn’s performance in requiem is still to this day an Oscar performance. Robert’s was great but Ellen should have won. If anyone had seen requiem, people would have known that she should have won. It’s one of the most devastating performances I have seen and I’m still thinking about it today 20 years later.

45. I dont hate Julia Roberts, but my god is she in love with herself. She is the epitome of a self obsessed hollywood starlet, and maybe theres nothing wrong with that, but i can only imagine how humble and delightful Ellen wouldve been on that stage had she won instead. I understand why she was relishing the moment and so overwhelmed with happiness but …. i just prefer my actresses to be a little more grounded.
