In this video I’ll be showing you the best gpu drivers to mine with for both AMD and NVIDEA cards. I will also be showing you how to find out what driver you currently have installed, how
to correctly remove it if its not an ideal driver, and how to find and install the most efficient driver for mining.

You can download NVIDIA drivers here

You can download AMD drivers here

Download GPU-Z from here

Download the DDU from here

Scroll down and select a download mirror.

How to correctly uninstall and install GPU drivers?

For GPU drivers, theres usually a few options to choose from. Typically theres a game ready driver, a DCH driver and Studio drivers. For mining you will want to use the game ready driver, as the DCH or studio drivers could cause issues.

To know what kind of GPU driver you currently have installed I recommend using a tool called GPU-Z. When you run this program it will list all the specs of your GPU. Check the driver version field for the currently installed driver. If DCH is in the name here you will want to uninstall this and install the proper game ready driver. A proper driver will have all of these bottom options checked as well.

If you do need to uninstall and reinstall a proper driver, you will want to use a free tool called Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU). To use this tool you will want to boot into safe mode without networking so that Windows 10 doesn’t try reinstalling DCH drivers. To boot into safe mode, simply hold down the Shift key on your keyboard while you left click the restart button. When prompted choose Troubleshoot, then advanced option, startup settings, then click the restart button. When it restarts this time it will give you a list of options, choose option 4 to enable safe mode without networking.

Once you are logged into safe mode, run the DDU application. In the dropdown choose GPU and then click the button that says “clean and restart”. It will run through its steps of uninstalling the current GPU drivers and cleanup. When its done it will restart and boot back into windows normally. I recommend unplugging your network cable or disconnecting your wifi before it reboots so that when you login, windows update will not try to install a generic driver. Once you are logged in you can go ahead and install the game ready GPU driver that you downloaded earlier.

Once the driver has been installed you can run the GPU-Z tool again to verify that you have a good non-DCH driver installed.

And that’s how you install the correct GPU driver for mining. I hope this video was helpful, if it was please hit the thumbs up button and subscribe as I will keep cranking out content for you all. Thanks for watching and I’ll catch you all next time.
