    So many karaoke performances are Elvis impersonations, but if you are going to do an Elvis impersonation, “It’s Now Or Never” is not the Elvis song to do. This is because it is Elvis that is doing an impersonation, and for once it is not of himself.

    He’s impersonating Mario Lanza, or Tony Bennett or Dean Martin or somebody. Those guys had big voices – well, not Dino so much – big voices that swelled and soared and twisted their vowels, turning “It’s Now Or Never” into “It’s Nooooow Or Neeeevvveeeeerrrrrrr.” Fun stuff, but a little too over-the-top for mortals such as us.
