US equities ended mostly lower today as investors await fresh catalysts from the FOMC and economic data to push the indexes higher or at least justify current valuations.

Investors have been pricing in a robust economic recovery fueled by massive government spending and ultra-loose monetary policy, but recently ample evidence of rising inflation spooked them away from growth stocks, particularly tech ones, with the prospect of higher interest rates threatening to undermine the valuations.

Both Gold and Silver continue to trade near the 3-month highs, also seeking a new round of buying to take metals to new trading ranges. With key focuses remaining on inflation data and indications from Central Banks cutting back any bond buying.
