  4. Actually two of the four cast members of the carol burnett show are also in other shows Jim nabors acts as gomer pyle on his show u.s.m.c and Andy Griffith show and Tim Conway actually later voiced as barnacleboy in a cartoon spongebob squarepants.

  6. One of the top night time shows on CBS comes over and visits the top daytime show on CBS in 1978. Technically, producers and agents don't like this to happen as it causes problems with rights and payments due to the actors. (That is why it is rare) The fact G-T didn't simply edit it out means all was good. As for Fannie's request to drop in on her show, well, Carol Burnett's show was in real terms a low budget affair. One guest star was all they were budgeted for. If the whole Match Game panel just appeared in a prime time slot, it would probably be considered a problem financially and logistically as her show was also shot live before a studio audience.

  35. Did any other talk show have walk-ons like this? I remember celebrities walking onto Johnny Carson's stage – even David Letterman's stage but I don't ever remember seeing a walk-on to a game show stage. Match Game was truly a one-of-a-kind. Excellent!
