  1. If you do not bring religion into this she is being very rational. When you get older other than your family its harder to get along living. Those aches and pains become major medical problems. I think if it was possible for people to end their lives like she decided it would be more common.

  2. This is why the future of Europe is Islamic. You all will find the Godless, vain reasons to destroy yourselves, and you will use your own pathological altruism to rationalize it.

  3. This is the direct result of feminism, the basing of a woman's identity and value on her genitals and apart from any connection to family and finding her own purpose and enjoyment in life….nihilism. Sad.

If only she had read Ayn Rand in her younger days, she could have lived a much happier, rational, and productive life.

  4. Old age is brutal for most people.

We should respect peoples wishes but we should also think about those who love us.

Its a very hard decision to make between the two.

  5. When you are self obsessed… And you build no relationships with your family … Even your kids are ok with you dying….. Because you have no soul ties….. You diffused your entire life on yourself, your looks and what you could squeeze out of your husband…. Now from your husband down to your grand kids…. They all feel like they'd be better off without you. That is the greatest insult and tragedy in life… To produce a life and never nourish, connect nor bond with it. It's over now…..

  6. this highlights exactly what i will need to do when the time comes…. i will not condemn my children to having to care for me once i can no longer build houses!!…. so sad!!

  7. the title is misleading, she did not want to die because she was too old, she wanted to die, mostly because she was unable to attract young men at 78, (which is totally normal, but not for her for some reason), she was lonely,….. if she would have died of old age, she would be still alive, cause she was not sick as far as I understood

  8. Her entire sense of self worth was based on her looks and sexuality. When that time passed she saw herself as worthless. No interest in her own kids or grandkids. Her condition was built up over a lifetime of only being obsessed with herself.

  9. She lives or dies for herself only. No one else matters. Where is God in all this? Does he play a role in her life? I presume not.

  10. Its very interesting to see someone actually say things that probably multitudes of older people feel, living in isolation and quietly suffering, yet dare not say as it goes so strongly against societal rules.

  11. Nobody ask us for born, most of the time is for a selfish wish of others, so under this logic we have the right to choose when we want to end our lives in our own terms.

  12. Very selfish self centered. If she had a terminal illness or in pain i could understand. People dying daily that would love to live. Get out and help someone in need. Her not wanting to be with her grandchildren speaks volumns. Very ungrateful sad soul.

  13. What happens after death depends on a single choice that you make during your life.

You can make that choice right up to the end, just before your last breath. But once you die, you can’t undo your decision. Reincarnation doesn’t occur. You don’t come back and get to do it over. You don’t get a second chance.

If you choose to believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that He died on the cross to save you from the consequences of your sin, you receive eternal life and go to heaven to be with Him forever in fellowship, light, joy and truth. God raised Jesus from the dead—and if you believe in Him, He will raise you too.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. (John 3:16-18)

But if you choose not to believe, you go to hell. You are condemned to loneliness, separation, never-ending regret, and fire.

Heaven or hell. Life or death. Jesus or destruction.

If you have chosen Jesus, your spirit leaves your body when you die and goes to heaven. You’re absent from the body but present with the Lord.

Therefore we are always confident and know that as long as we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord. (2 Corinthians 5:6)

On the Day of Judgment, God doesn’t roll out all your sins and berate you and cast you away. Jesus already suffered the judgment and punishment for your sins. God sees you as cleansed by His Son’s blood. You’re forgiven. It’s God’s gift of grace, not earned by any good works that you have done on earth. Your name is written in the book of life.

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God. (Ephesians 2:8)

You won’t be judged, but you’ll be evaluated for your Christian life—for your faithfulness and the things you’ve done that have eternal value, not for your material success on earth. You’ll receive rewards of some kind for the work you allowed Jesus to do through you. But nothing will compare to the joy of being with God in the inexpressibly beautiful new heavens and earth.

You also will receive a new body. Just as Jesus was resurrected, so you’ll be given a resurrection body.

So will it be with the resurrection of the dead. The body that is sown is perishable, it is raised imperishable;  it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. (2 Corinthians 15:42-44)

When Jesus rose from the dead, He was the same and yet different. His body functioned outside the limits of space. He was able to appear in a room without entering it, and yet he ate and shared fellowship with His disciples. His hands and feet bore the holes of the nails of the cross, but He was alive and not in agony. You’ll receive a resurrection body that is suited for heaven!

But if you’ve rejected Jesus, if you’ve refused to accept Him as your Lord and Savior, you’ll stand before God’s great white throne and be condemned. You will be rejected as you rejected Christ. It will make no difference that you now realize your mistake. You’ll passionately desire to be with God, but you never will be. The book of Revelation says that anyone whose name is not written in the book of life will be “thrown into the lake of fire.”

Heaven or hell. Life or death. Jesus or eternal destruction. You have a choice but no second chance once you die.

  14. She has obviously thought this matter through very thoroughly and is conscious of the need not to impose anything emanating from her decision on others (ref the sight of blood or shock etc). She has also had herself examined by medical experts to certify her sanity. I assume she is imagining a simple injection in the privacy of her own home with the necessary people waiting in the wings (coroner, undertaker etc). Or maybe a self-administered draught so that no doctor nor family member need be involved. No major fuss. Everything planned. Once the authorities can be certain of no coercion by others (notably close family!), I can see no reason why she should not be allowed to choose.

  15. Wow thats a interesting story, its amazing how people can think about life and how they may go
