Known as “Mandy” in John Berendt’s New York Times Bestseller “Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil” , Hillis gained more notoriety when she purchased the Hamilton-Turner House on Lafayette Square.   4. I didn't know that Ms Nancy Hills died. I loved her character in the book and as well Lady Chablis, Joe Odum & the rest of them from the story. Nancy "Mandy' seemed like a lovely and enchanting woman w/ a warm spirit. May She rest in peace. I hope Nancy is in heaven having cocktails and sharing laughs with Lady Chablis & Joe Odum.

  9. We had the pleasure of meeting Nancy in November of 2006 when she coordinated our wedding at the Savannah Beach Bed & Breakfast Inn. What a wonderful woman. We've often thought about her….

  10. The Lady Chablis passed away about a month after Nancy. Most of the main characters of Midnight In the Garden of Good and Evil are now gone.
