  19. Here's the solution: Always have Task Manager open, as that will prevent mining. Basically, that will allow you to delete the file.

    If you're going to mine, mine on your own PC (especially if you have an old computer lying around, you should use the old one.).

  24. I support this idea. And I actually support putting something like this in cracks etc. Seriously – person working on cracks etc spends his spare time. Throwing some computing power from gaming pc sounds like fair deal. Also performance penalty is fair punishment for being idiot and catching viruses. In general people totally misuse hardware. Imagine how much mankind could do with all this wasted computing power that is laying not utilized on idles everywhere.

    I wish there was more ways of donating computing power to decentralized clusters. I wish software companies allowed buying soft for computing power donations (not necessarily bitcoins). I'm personally running BOINC platform on my PC 24/7 and I set limit to 70% of resources below 30% treshold of my own load. But running BOINC is 100% volunteer. it'd be nice to be able to support some more commercial projects with computing power and get some small revenue at least equivalent of electricity bills. Imagine how much potential revenue could generate decentralized cluster made of all workstations around the world. it'd easily surpass top 10 supercomputers. For leaving PC running over night we could generate income for companies and get some small % of it back. sounds like profit-profit. Too bad most people wouldn't understand and wouldn't like anyone to use their PCs and on smaller scale it doesn't make that much sense… selfish ignorants…

  25. It is still better than losing all your files. Once they are encrypted you can only pay but you can always terminate this shit. Worse would be if the ransom activated once the miner would be dealt with.
