1. Maybe Tesla bots would be used in future Tesla giga factories .or there would be humanoid bots in super charger stations that would plug in the charger ..

2. yeah it might not be the BEST design for specific tasks, but a human-shaped robot… View it more as a Multi-tool.. Not best at anything, but adept at everything, so instead of having 10-20 robots for their own specific purposes you'll have 1 for them all.

7. I disagree. You can hove dozens of robots, all worth a lot of money or one worth a lot of money that is capable of all these task, even though it would be less efficient than a robot made specifically for that task. Take your dishes scenario. You still have clear the table, clean most of the food off the dishes, and load the dishwasher. A dishwasher is not going to do that. How about laundry? Your washer isn't going to walk around and gather all your dirty clothes to wash. Cleaning would require multiple robots OR very complex/large robots that would need to handle a wide variety of tasks such as dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, plunging toilets, unclogging/fixing stuff, cleaning glass/counters/other surfaces. The list goes on and on. Something a humanoid robot could simply be downloaded to fix and do it. Literally so many tasks could not be done without the input or need of a human or a ridiculous amount of task specific robots and that does not make sense when you can have one do all those tasks. It quite literally becomes too resource intensive/expensive and makes no sense.

11. Hey Marques, it sounds like you believe in your amazing ability as a genius engineer, so why don’t you start a robotics company, car company, or even rocket company and show us all how to do it? Your use of air quotes just shows your lack of knowledge. It sounds like someone is a little salty that they didn’t buy Tesla stock early and now you would rather sell your Y for a Chevy Bolt.

21. I think you are missing the point with your "human body is inefficient" idea. The teslabot does not seem to be a vacuum and it doesn't seem to be a dishwasher. It doesn't seem like a robot designed to be super efficient at one task. Rather it seems they wanted to make something that can do a multitude of things. And if you want to be able to do a multitude of things (say vacuum AND do the dishes) the human body starts looking a lot better doesn't it?

39. I don’t think it is about the robot doing one task it is about everything being made for the human form and building a robot that will be able to do all the tasks as efficiently or slightly less than a human and not about doing every task extremely efficient

45. I believe his reasons are to send robots to mars or other planets initially, where it’s too risky to send humans, i.e – send robots to set up a hub in mars before the humans arrive so they have a safe habitat.

46. guys hate to be the bearer of bad news but you heard it here first, Mars or outer space will NEVER be colonized by humans EVER, so use the money and tech and lets all preserve the HOME we were given EARTH.

48. I like the Tesla Truck. It has room in the bed to hold a gas/diesel generator and extra fuel cans !
    As for using it on the ranch… well the paint may not scratch if you drive it through brush and give it 'ranch pinstripes'.

    You may hear about a Tesla having a wreck from time to time but every day of the week here in Houston you have dozens of wrecks each day.
    You don't have some bimbo looking at their phone at a green light while other people are honking their horns because the driver thinks they have to finish that text before they get hit in the rear.
