7. I didn’t buy it then and I don’t buy it now. Sexually explicit material is legal and that’s ALL the banks care about. Banks and financial institutions are putting pressure on Congress now to legalize cannabis so they can get their hands on that lucrative market but scared to touch it because cannabis is federally illegal. All the care about is MONEY!!!! They only want to make sure it’s coming from a legal source and not being accused of laundering ill gotten capital.

   OnlyFans got greedy and thought they could smoothly transition into a more lucrative position and going public. They apparently are straight and don’t know how forthright and vocal some of these queens can be now they are making six figure incomes a month! They saw their world imploding and they were sinking much quicker than they thought when subscribers started alienating their subscriptions.

   This is a capitalist country. Money talks, bullshit walks, just that simple.

9. I don't understand why the platform would be making policy announcements this way rather than informing the creators who then adapt to the changes and subsequently inform their audience. 14. I don't think for one second OF had a banking issue as they described. Banks do not have an issue with porn by itself. What they have issue with is being able to be made liable for helping finance sex traffickers, child pornographers, and recorded sexual assault. What sites like PH got into trouble with was that they initially refused to put any monitoring practices on place and were found to have child porn on the website. OF would only have banking issues of they too refused to have any monitoring practices. I think the just didn't expect the backlash and great exodus they received not just from creators but fans, the media, and supports of sex workers and their rights. They only reversed their decision when they realized they fucked up.

16. Good Video/ explainer. I'm mixed on my views. I have done OnlyFans and JFF for the adult gay content. But if "powers that be" want to put the screws on payment systems then there's that. Govt.'s and companies have done this over child porn: backpage and craigslist. While recreational Pot may be legal in many USA states, paying for it and transacting it is mostly a $cash business because USA laws prohibit using banks for Marihuana transactions. All these instant payment methods are cheap and easy and low cost in volume. OnlyFans probably decided to pay more for the transactions instead of seeing their 'cash cow' devoured. I still like to write a check and send it through the mail. it works ! (too)

If you're not familiar w/the channel Watts The Safeword by sex positive vloggers/sex workers Amp & Mr. Kristofer check them out (I have a feeling you already know them). They have decades of experience in sex work/porn & dealing w/online platforms, legislation & banking systems. According to their various sources (they've done lots of research too) there are far right groups pressuring politicians who in turn make legislation & pressure the platforms & banks in the name of online underage & of age sex trafficking which they believe is being supported on sites like Only Fans. Sure, it does happen but not apparently to the degree they believe it does. Basically, the far right groups are using scare tactics to get to all sex workers by using 'sex trafficking' as a means to their self righteous end. It's really quite amazing how far they will go. 20. I think they could have and should have warned their creators. Secondly, sex work and porn is a prominent industry. Banks and PayPal need to get over this. Sex is natural yet people have such a hang up about it being dirty. The industry also having such a huge stigma is seriously stupid. Real Job? Are you kidding me? People were actually ignorant enough to say this? Well…let me serve some tea. 1) Sex is physically demanding. 2) Staying in tip top shape for doing said porn and having sex is extremely demanding. 3) People will pay for sex and yet nobody will admit to it. 4) Being in top form and doing this day in and day out is also emotionally and mentally demanding. So all that being said, it's a service people do that is physically, mentally, and emotionally demanding and they do it in exchange for money that the people who demand said service are willing to pay for. Hmmm? That sounds strikingly like every job out there to me. OnlyFans is a business like any other and they strive to look like a "legitimate business" they did so in this case incorrectly and they are now paying a steep price. Let the numbers speak for their grievous error.

25. I think it’s about the loss of money. Businesses look after themselves. OF apparantly didn’t care about those that made their business a success or their creators would have been notified first IMO. After creators started jumping ship OF profits started to drop. So I think they reversed their decision to save their own butts financially. Personally, I don’t think this is over, but time will tell. Creators need to have a back up plan and shouldn’t rely on OF as their only source for income. Creators need to be shrewd about their business plan.
