That’s why I would never advertise Florida as a paradise of “outdoor activities”. I was brought up in New England where you can go in ANY lake, pond, river or stream without fear of alligators or poisonous snakes. In Florida I limit my outdoor activity to theme parks and swimming pools, period!

He is Completely WRONG about Gators. They are Scary & Mean and they Eat Children & Pets. They also attack and Eat Adults. There were many Joggers who met their death in the Mouths of Gators. Don't take the Words of a Professional trained Gator Handler.
Even Tallahassee has Gators, we get the occasional Gator shutting down traffic or strolling along side the road
For almost 30 years, we vacationed in Hilton Head. The place and pool was not more than 20 feet from the lagoon… even has a very young child I had nightmares about alligators coming in the pool while we were swimming. There was no fence.
